I did a test paint job on the Butcher a few months ago. This, for the most part, is how the army will look. I’ve got all of my resin bases now and it’s just a matter of getting everything assembled. It will definitely be worth the effort to pin all the models too.
I used the Butcher art as inspiration for this one. It pained me to bash the Ironclad head, but I like the way it turned out. Used guitar string for the cable. I can see continuing this for the rest of the army.
I wanted pink to be the accent rather than the primary color. I've always wanted to paint a dark Khador army and I like the way this turned out.
It was a lot of fun to paint the leather on this one. I suspect future models will have more blending than extreme highlights.
A few things have changed since I painted this model back in January. For starters, I have all of the models in hand. Secondly, I’ve started drybrushing my metals, which definitely speeds up painting and improves the overall look of my models. It gives me more time to spend on the other details. Finally, I’m fired up after spending the past weekend at Privateer Press HQ and watching a Ron Kruzie painting demo.
I’ve got a few other projects right now, but I’m going to start assembling the Khador. 🙂
