Pink Cygnar Spotted in York, Pa!

Had to take a moment to share.  I managed to get a great deal on some Cygnar models and asked one of our talented local painters if she would paint them up as prize support for our Breast Cancer Brawl event at The Comic Store West in York, Pa. She hasn’t finished everything that I gave her, but I think the force is looking pretty good. 

Too bad I’m  running the tournament, I’d love to have a chance at winning these.  For anyone in the local area, (or anyone who feels like a road trip), the event will be on Sat. Sept 17th!

This IS my pink model

Well vacation has been wonderful. I’m spending some quality time with my family, but I’m not getting a lot of painting done.  Nevertheless, I have a solid base coat and some highlighting started on the first model for my Thyra tier list. I’m still trying to decide which resin bases to order for this crew, if anyone has suggestions I’d love to hear them.

Right on schedule, well sort of

Hey all,

These last few week I’ve been working on finishing up my handful of cryx that I’ve had somewhat done. And except for a few small touchs (a wash here and there, and some small details) I’m all done and based. I really wish I had gotten more done, I’ve got a lot just base pink coated but just didn’t get too.

Hopefully I’ll be getting to more, and I’ll be able to post soon without such a large brake.

This is NOT my Thyra Model.

Although I don’t have much to show yet, I’ve committed to posting each week on here. It will keep me moving.

So there I was complaining on Twitter about how incredibly detailed my Thyra model was and what a challenge it will be to paint it when Bobaferret replies and tells me that hers is finished already!

My army is looking significantly still…..well white right now. I claim victory in the fact that they are now at least partly assembled as last week they were still in their boxes. 

My goal is to post a photo of a completed model by next week. I’ve started the base coat on the dervish and feel confident he’ll  she’ll be camera ready by this time next week. Right then- back to the painting table for me!

This IS NOT a pink army

Alright, So I didn’t forget about my Thyra theme force. I’ve just been a little distracted by these guys.

I realized about a week ago that I had an entire faction almost completely painted. For a guy that has a litteral mountain of metal in his basement that’s a pretty big deal. I haven’t had an army completely painted since….well I’ve never had an army completely painted.

I have been working on figuring out my exact Thyra list, and have even made a few purchases, but my paint brush has been focussed on Pendrake, Saxon, Gudrun, Rorsch, Brine, 2 Warhogs, Carver, Arkadius, and a bonegrinder. I only have three models left, and then I can put the piggies to bed and focus 100% on my pink project.

A rush to paint, BCB 2012

With the push back of the Wrath kit, Breast Cancer Brawl 2012 gets pushed back to July. Now it time for me to crack down and paint some models. Hopefully I’ll get some models done and pics posted.

Time to paint PINK!

This will be my first foray into the Paint Pink blog. I’ve been a fan for two years, and have finally gotten the guts to get out here and join the ranks of the pink armies. It has taken me several weeks to decide what army I was going to paint. I wanted to paint a faction that I didn’t already have a paint scheme for. That left out Minions, Circle, Retribution, and Khador.  I bounced back and forth several times, but I finally decided on the faction that I once labelled as the one would never own. One model made all the difference. Thyra, flame of sorrow.

I’m not sure what is going to end up in her army, but I’m going to try to work out the paint scheme on a dervish that I just happen to have lying around. I should have some pictures in the next week or two.

Welcome 2011

Its been really quite so I thought with the new year I’d post. I’ve been busy with my Hordes models since there book releases in the latter half of 2010 that I haven’t really gotten to much of my Cryx. I got some bane thralls from my sister for Christmas that I’ll have to put together and paint. As usual I have some posts as August approaches (that the month I’m doing Breast Cancer Brawl in). Maybe I’ll commit to at least a post a month….we’ll have to see.

So Happy New Year to all, Can’t wait to see what you guys come up with this year.

BCB Boise Auction Entry

It has been a long, long, long time.  But I am still gunning for a painted army to auction off again.  Life and what have yous means I was strapped for the extra army, but a local player wanted to donate minis, but needed them painted.  So I stepped up and we are going for a Searforge army now.  He donated the battlebox, I am kicking in a few minis and I just need a unit or two to make it all gravy.  I got solid leads for everything, but I got one month to the day to get this sucka done.

I got great progress so far, having a few more models left before i am waiting for deliveries, which is where I want to be.

I got a Basher 50% done, and Thor, a Bokur, and artillery crew to still work on.

A Long Overdue Update – More Pink Trolls!

Well, after what looks like a year off from Hordes (I blame Cryx WM Mark II) and a slight distraction in real life my Trolls are back!

First thou, some news. My Mother In Law at the start of Feb was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Big shock and that was not the phone call that me or my wife ever wanted to take. Life takes a different route after news like this.

Good news is the operation and subsequent treatment (radiotherapy) is  now over and she is making a good recovery (and now rocks some awesome bandanna choices). It’s been hard supporting her and the family but out of all of us, she has been the strongest one!

Needless to say this time, alongside the release of Hordes Mk II and the incoming new Trollblood book has renewed my love of the big pink ones.

So I cracked out the camera to produce some sub standard finished pics of what I have been up to the past few weeks off and show the Pink Kriel off fully!

In hindsight I should have made a group shot but I don’t think my camera could cope with that much pink…..

Hope you enjoy my hard work, I have some Champs, a Pyre Troll and a Stone Scribe Chronicler on my painting table to finish of and then some casters and maybe another beast or two before I start on the slog that is the Kriel Warriors. All that tartan is beginning to scare me….

On a final rather personal note I do have a Calandra who will be painted up in honour of my Mother In Laws success. Any suggestions on how to sugar coat the fact that I have picked a rather substantial character to represent her will be appreciated!
